The Basics

I find it absolutely fascinating and love just how many new programs there are for upgraded nutrition, fitness, vitality,  relationships, next level breathing, meditation, you name it.

However, after listening to a recent podcast by Robb Wolf I became acutely aware of how easy it is to forget the basics.

What do I mean by that?

Heart So Full It Can Burst

I had one of those ‘heart so full it can burst’ kinda mornings… the kind of mornings when you are in awe at how the Universe works. The kind of mornings when you connect so deeply with another human being you realize THIS is what life is all about. The kind of morning when you call and text all your closest peoples just to tell them you love them.

I’m inside of this vortex called love so big it’s swirling all around me and everything is so still and clear. There’s an aura of peace and you can’t help but acknowledge it. You can’t help but want to share THIS.

Because life is meant to be shared. The more we share these kind of moments the more it speaks to the part of all of us that craves this and sparks something new, hopeful, and energizing within us.

So here’s to more mornings like this. Here’s to creating your own vortex… the ‘heart so full it can burst’ kind 😉

Namaste.

You Might As Well Be Happy

This past weekend I went on an epic hike with my brother (and the little pup!) to Swak Mountain. We chose Swak because we knew how busy the other nearby trails would be and we really wanted to unleash the pup and let him roam 🙂 Speaking of trails… I just love how close these hikes, trails, and mountains are!!!

We get to Swak and the parking lot is packed! Fortunately the mountain is SO huge with tons of tiny trails that we didn’t really run into too many others and the pup was able to roam. Happy dog.

As I took in the wonder of nature we finally reached one of the trail peaks and started our journey down back to the trail head. We took a left, then a right, then another right, and then we finally decided to look at the GPS.

UH OH.

Thought

There’s never an original thought.  There is only the thought that finds its owner.

Be Soft

Be Soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.

Sensory Deprivation & Floating

(picture courtsey of Life Float via Facebook)

I have been wanting to do a sensory deprivation float for at least a few years and finally found the right place and the right time to do it – and I’m so glad I did!

First of all, I love trying new experiences. There’s something about getting out of your usual routine that gets the brain and body shifting in different gears that really get me excited.

Back to floating… after doing a bit of research I decided to try Life Float in Seattle. The ease of booking online, customer service, and cleanliness of the facilities had me sold. Not to mention the genuine and authentic nature of the business, which was immediately validated upon arrival.

But wait, what’s floating?
