The Seasons In Our Life

Oftentimes in our life we wonder what went wrong to be in a “barren” cycle of our life. But what if there was a gift through it all?

Watch this recent live as I share this one question you can ask yourself to begin creating more space in your life during this crucial season in your life.

Is adrenal fatigue real?

Is Adrenal Fatigue REAL?

Depending on how long you’ve been experiencing adrenal fatigue, you probably know by know that “adrenal fatigue” is a syndrome that is not recognized by conventional medicine, which means you’re working with a naturopatic doctor or other alternative health care practitioner at the time of this writing.

Well, it doesn’t stop there. There’s more research that indicates while the symptoms that collectively fall under “adrenal fatigue” are real, the treatment of our adrenals isn’t truly targeting the root cause.

Adrenal Fatigue Life Coach

What few are now starting to call this is HPA Axis Dysregulation. The HPA Axis is known to be the body’s central stress response system. And for some people, when our body, and it’s hormonal response, is no longer able to habituate to the chronic stressor, symptoms of “adrenal fatigue” begin to emerge until we treat the root cause

Essentially – cortisol disturbance.

So, is adrenal fatigue REAL? HELL YES.

Should it be CALLED adrenal fatigue? I’ll leave that to the medical experts.

What I do know is that the collective symptoms that are now under the naming convention – adrenal fatigue – is absolutely real and debilitating.

Thankfully, there IS a way to peace and finding joy while in recovery.

It wasn’t until I realized my thoughts were causing me more stress than what was actually happening in my life that I was able to regain control.

This is what I tell my clients (adrenal fatigue or not) all day long. You need to pull out the ROOTS (your mis-managed thoughts) in order to FEEL BETTER. Because our thoughts create our feelings, never what’s happening.

It’s a hard concept to grasp at first but when you do, you’ll begin to realize just how IN CONTROL you are of your life 100% of the time.

So, adrenal fatigue? It’s real – at least the collective symptoms of adrenal fatigue.

I hear you. I see you. I feel you.

How do I know? Because I was right there with you my friend.

Let me know how I can help.

Managing Your Schedule Effectively

If you’re anything like me, you’re one of those type-A personalities that knows what needs to happen and when without even writing it down. While we may think this is a strength, and at times it totally is, there is a lot of mindfulness and insight that goes into writing it all out on a daily or weekly time-table.

Manage Your Schedule Effectively

The physical act of writing out ANYTHING- whether it’s your thoughts, your to-do’s, your goals – is magical. It allows your eyes to see and therefore your brain to register everything as finite as opposed to a looping cycle in your brain that seems never ending.

When we keep everything in our head it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Instead write it out.

What I absolutely love is have clients write their entire day out in chunks of time. It allows us to feel peace in knowing everything that we need to do as an important “slot” in your day (or week) and we don’t have to re-visit the thought again. Here’s an example:

  • 6:30am – 7:00am – Brush teeth, Brew Coffee, Meditate
  • 7:00am – 8:00am – Get Ready, Eat Breakfast
  • 8:00 – 8:45am – Commute, Listen to Podcast, Call Mom
  • 8:45am – 12:00am – Work (it’s also a great time to list any small to-do’s you might need to do during breaks such as calling the dentist to make an appointment, etc.)
  • 12:00pm – 12:45pm – Lunch, Walk, Get Fresh Air
  • 12:45pm – 1:00pm – To-Do list (again, anything that requires a quick phone call)
  • 1:00pm – 5:00pm – Work
  • 5:00pm – 5:30pm – Commute, Listen to Podcast or Meditation
  • 5:30pm – 6:30pm – Exercise, Yoga, “You Time”
  • 6:30pm – 7:00pm – Commute, Listen to Podcast or Meditation
  • 7:00pm – 8:00pm – Dinner
  • 8:00pm – 9:45pm – “You Time” (this can be time to learn something, read a book, take a bath, anything that energizes you and is restorative)

This is just a sample. Each day might be different and you should annotate those differences either on this list or a different list for that special day.

For example, if you’ll be working on a special project for yourself or your child (DIY, Child’s recital, etc.), make sure you have that written out, including any errands you might need to run for that special event so you aren’t thinking about it and ultimately spinning you out.

Trust me, this is a game changer and if you’ve done something similar to this before, you know what I’m talking about.

When you do this exercise notice how you feel more at peace and how there is so much more room in our minds to just BE.

With that said, I hope you take the time for yourself to do this exercise… it will be worth the peace of mind.

Here’s to managing our schedule so that we can effectively manage our thoughts.

Friday Focus – 4/27/18 {Trust The Path}

This week’s theme is trust.

So often I’ve heard over and over again how being confused about what next step to take can be one of the most frustrating experiences a human can go through. To feel lost, without purpose, and trying to get back up, but no North Star pointing the way. What’s a person to do?

At times like this I tell others, and myself, to trust the path you’re on.

Just trust it. Every discomfort, from the uncomfortable emotions to all the triggers, is for a bigger perspective we just can’t see yet.

I’d like to think of these moments as a gift from the Universe. As if God is saying, “let’s see if you can tackle this one” so that we can evolve to begin the next chapter.

Sometimes we need to shed a few unnecessary and un-serving layers within our psyche to finally see the path, and unfortunately this is going to take as long as it needs.

But what we have always is trust. When we trust we become open, and when we are open we become lighter, and with this lightness of our minds we open our awareness enough to have true sight about the situation.

And with this we can begin to lessen our grip on control and breathe in a sigh of relief that things are unfolding for our betterment, and our focus can be to see things with curiosity instead of fear.

Afterall, through this curiosity we just may see the ah-ha…

You Are A Miracle Machine

“You are a miracle machine. When you get out of your thinking mind and just feel from your heart center the anxiety fades away. Anxiety comes from believing you have done wrong. Because deep down you have blocked the miracle. When you love and see and feel with your heart, anxiety does not exist. Anxiety is a human, ego condition. When you feel it, drop into your heart and believe in miracles. Come up to your natural state; your higher, true state. No one can hurt you. Only you can hurt you. You are the powerful one. Make it so.

Seeking Confirmation

Why do we do that? Whether it’s out of curiosity or we want to hear something other than what we know deep down inside, it’s as if us humans have an insatiable need to constantly seek confirmation outside ourselves.

On one hand if you have a healthy mindset about it, scratching a particular itch doesn’t hurt. I often find that when you’re honed in on your own intuition and your deepest desires you always know the answer and aren’t as stressed because you already have faith in the unfoldment of what is to be. Instead, what we mistaken as confirmation are really therapeutic experiences; after all as humans we love to be in community and what better way than to share and find a tribe of people who understand what you’re going through?

Where I think it can do more harm than good is when you constantly seek confirmation without giving anyone’s opinion or advice deep thought. When you feel the need to jump from one thing to another, stop and ask yourself, “what am I seeking?” “what do I want to hear?” “what am I afraid of?” “what is the underlying emotion that is driving my actions?”

Whether you’re in one boat or the other, consider relabeling what you are seeking. Rather than seeking “confirmation”, position your thoughts to identify with this activity as a “therapeutic experience” or a “discovery session”. Whether you do this with friends, a tarot/astrology reading, therapist, or life coach, when you identify this as a self discovery process suddenly the desperation falls away. Did you feel the shift?

When we come from a place of seeking confirmation it implies a yearning for a particular goal, outcome, or indicates an illusory fear.

So the next time you feel the need to seek confirmation, take a moment to re-identify the action from seeking to discovery. It may make a world of difference and save you the stress.

And remember, you already have the answers within ?
