But what I like to respond with is, “Oh, you mean my mindset routine?”

I don’t just practice this in the morning or evening…. I do it ALL DAY LONG and I’m sharing it all in this video below.

Why Hope Is Not A Good Strategy

Hope is such a pretty word isn’t it?

Or how about “I wish…”

But what’s missing when we say something such as, “I hope…?”

Watch this video to learn why HOPE isn’t such a pretty word when used in the wrong context:

Do You Let Your Past Affect You?

In this video I break down how your past affects you now AND in the future if you don’t know how to handle it.

Remember, if you want to do new things, be a better person, or simply uplevel your life you must, think and feel new thoughts and emotions. What got you here, simply won’t get you there.

Think outside the box my friends!

The Art Of Public Speaking

Who doesn’t have to speak in public?

No really, if you think about it… we all have to engage in some form of public speaking on a daily basis.

But what if you have to speak publicly for a living?

What if you need to present to the C-Suite on a weekly basis?

What if you need to talk with and encourage and motivate your team members on a DAILY basis?

Seattle Public Speaking and Anxiety Coach

I came across this wonderful book, The Art of Public Speaking by Dale Carnegie and Joseph Berg Esenwein, and I had to share some of my golden nuggets.

While it doesn’t compare to reading the book… it might bring you some insights as you prepare to go into your next meeting later today or even this week. Here it is:

It is sheer egotism to fill your mind with thoughts of self when the greater thing is there – truth.
If the theater caught fire you could rush the stage and shout directions to the audience without any self-consciousness, for the importance of what you were saying would drive all fear thoughts out of your mind.
Have the first few sentences worked out completely so that you may not be troubled in the beginning to find words. Know your subject better than your hearers know it, and you have nothing to fear.
Overconfidence is bad, but to tolerate premonitions of failure is worse.
If you believe you will fail, there is no hope for you. You will.
Rid yourself of this “I am a poor worm in the dust idea”. You are a god, with infinite capabilities. “All things are ready if the mind be so.”

Take a deep breath, relax, and begin in the quiet conversational tone as though you were speaking to one large friend.

The bravest no fear, but they do not yield to it.
In your audience slice some victory for you and the cause you represent. Go with it.

and this is the one I love the most:

And remember that your audience is infinitely more important than you, the truth is more important than the both of you, because it is eternal.

Sure there are the jitters, but the jitters only get worse because of the story you are telling yourself in your mind.

Get good and telling the truth, and then you become unstoppable.

Why You’re NOT Reaching Your Goals

I see a lot of people who set goals and not reach them…

Why?

It’s simple really, though it may be hard to grasp if you’re head isn’t screwed on right today 😉

Most often people set goals and don’t feel good about it (for long).

And what does not feeling good imply?

“I’m not worthy”

“This is impossible”

“Why bother”

“Is this even worth the trouble?”

And what do these following statements actually get you?

INACTION

INCOMPLETE ACTION

LESS CREATIVITY

NO MOTIVATION

And most importantly, you’ve already convinced your subconscious that there is SERIOUS lack in your life RIGHT NOW because you’re so focused on a future goal you can’t enjoy what’s actually going on in your life.

It’s no wonder we can’t reach our goals in a more faster and efficient way!

When we set goals the single most important thing you need is this:

  1. NEW IDENTITY

What would a person that doesn’t stress about work or people think and feel like?

What would a person wanting to lose 8 pounds actually do day in and day out?

What would a person who wants to be happy be thinking about?

It all comes down to identity…

What I see a lot of people do instead is keep their current identity and will power their way to the next level. And that’s a whole lotta WORK!!!

So set your mind straight first.

Think and feel from your future self.

Don’t waste your time and precious energy trying to white knuckle your way there…

Because trust me, there is a much simpler, faster way to reach your goal, and I’ll be cheering you on from the side lines.

The Power Of Your Own Personal Board Of Directors

Visualization is a powerful tool.

Oftentimes when we visualize we are allowing for possibilities to arise; we are allowing for our brain to prime itself for what is possible.

I like to follow a visualization practice created by Napoleon Hill.

He essentially invites you to create your own, personal board of directors.

Think of the people in your life who inspire you. They can be dead or alive.

Maybe you listen to their podcast religiously, maybe you have all of their books, maybe they are a real life mentor at work…

These people all emulate a part of you that exists inside you, but need more development.

When you visualize yourself at the head of the table presenting a problem, imagine these people giving you their biggest advice.

You will find yourself with deep, deep knowledge of how they would tackle any problem, issue in life, or any circumstance you present them with.

What you will realize is that the answers are always within you. Sometimes we need to get out of our own mind in order to find them, but the answers are always within.

So, who would be your personal board of directors?
