Your Most Powerful Asset

When you think about the most powerful tool you have, what comes to mind?

Money
Time
or maybe
Love?

Yes, those things can get you a lot in life.

But none of those things would matter if we didn’t give it the meaning we are capable of giving it.

You see, our brains have the capacity to project whatever it is we want to see.

If you see time as hurried and scarce, that will be how you experience your life.

Thanks to the frequency illusion, we will only notice when time seems limited or scarce. Our minds will say, “See! I told you so! There is never enough time in the day!”. When really, there were moments when we were scrolling Facebook or checking our phones for new notifications multiple times a day.

And do you want to know why this is the case?

Because our thoughts are how we experience our life.

If you believe your happiness is based on the results from your job, then your happiness WILL be based on the results from your job.

If you believe love is hard to find, then love will be hard to find.

If you believe money flows to you easily, then money will flow to you easily.

If you believe you were meant for something big and purposeful, then your life will be big and purposeful.

You see, a part of our brain, the subconscious mind, always performs FOR YOU. It will never say no. It’s only job is to follow your orders.

And where do orders come from?

Our thoughts and feelings.

Where do feelings come from?

OUR THOUGHTS.

So let’s be real clear and honest… everything starts with your thoughts. It starts in your brain first.

Time, money, love, and whatever else you listed at the start of this post is powerful to you because you gave it meaning from a thought you had about it.

Now the big question is, are you choosing your thoughts or are your thoughts choosing you?

This is a trick question because…

… the illusion and major misconception that most people think is that our thoughts choose us.

Thoughts do not choose us; thoughts don’t just happen to us. We are the thinker of our thoughts. We are the creative force that gets to think whatever we choose.

Once you understand this crucial piece of knowledge, there is no unlearning this.

When you can harness the creative power you are and the most powerful asset you have – your brain, you are now stepping into the true seat of personal power.

How will you choose to change your life one thought at a time?

You Got Your Goal. Now What?

I’ve been watching a documentary following a group of people along a journey walking the Camino de Santiago to their final destination Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It’s been fascinating to watch because it brings to light just how true the saying goes, “it’s all about the journey, not the destination”.

And if you’re at all familiar with dopamine and how the brain works, then you know all too well once you’ve maintained a level of “reward” in the brain, it needs higher levels to feel rewarded.

That’s what happens to us when we reach our goal. For a time being we’re ecstatic. We’re walking on cloud nine because it’s what we wanted ALL along!

Then comes the inevitable questions, “Is this it? What’s next?”

What I want you to know is this is completely normal. Your brain needs another reward, AND as human beings we crave evolution… so naturally, you’re going to want to stretch yourself and target a new goal.

Are you starting to see the cycle?

There IS no final destination folks! We’re all in it for the journey because your goal keeps evolving.

To some, this is terrible news… but to others, this is a HUGE relief!

Now you’re in the mindset of enjoying the process, because the process is ALL THERE EVER WAS AND IS.

So keep that in mind…

There’s no rush to your goal, because goals are forever. It’s about enjoying every minute of every day because the journey will determine how you live your life.

The only moment we have is now. How will you use it?

If You Make A Decision From Fear

What happens if you make a decision from fear? What options do you have?

One of the biggest stressors when it comes to decision making IS making decisions from fear.

I answer a listener question in this live video I did on my Facebook page. Watch this short video as I expand on what it means to make a decision on fear and the two options you have.

How To Live A More Meaningful Life Amidst Adrenal Fatigue

What does it mean to live a meaningful life amidst adrenal fatigue? If you’re experiencing deep burnout, or perhaps you’ve been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue… chances are you’ve been in a cycle of worry, stress, and overwhelm for quite some time.

Seattle Stress Management Coach, Adrenal Fatigue and Burnout

Or,

Maybe, because of adrenal burnout you’ve been searching for this so called “meaning”.

But let me get straight to the point.

To search for this so called meaning presupposes you don’t have meaning in your life RIGHT NOW.

This confuses the part of yourself that understands there is nothing absolutely wrong with you in this very moment.

And because our brain can only focus on one thing at a time, when we choose to focus on the lack, or the problem in this case, all we invite into our life is the meaning-LESS of what our life is.

So, what is a person to do?

If you want to live a more meaningful life amidst adrenal fatigue, the best thing you can do for yourself is to appreciate what “meaning” you already have in your life today.

What brings a smile to your face?

What small joy do you have that you take for granted?

How can you help someone today?

Who you can love on just a little more today? Whether they deserve it or not?

What small gesture can you do for yourself as a show of appreciation for who you already are?

When we begin building appreciation for what we have something magical happens.

Ever heard that saying, “what you focus on grows”?

The same is true for your own experience.

Start appreciating every small moment in your life and you suddenly realize you are living your best life in THIS VERY MOMENT.

It’s never about what we don’t have…

… it’s ALWAYS about what we have in this moment in time.

Why You’re NOT Reaching Your Goals

I see a lot of people who set goals and not reach them…

Why?

It’s simple really, though it may be hard to grasp if you’re head isn’t screwed on right today 😉

Most often people set goals and don’t feel good about it (for long).

And what does not feeling good imply?

“I’m not worthy”

“This is impossible”

“Why bother”

“Is this even worth the trouble?”

And what do these following statements actually get you?

INACTION

INCOMPLETE ACTION

LESS CREATIVITY

NO MOTIVATION

And most importantly, you’ve already convinced your subconscious that there is SERIOUS lack in your life RIGHT NOW because you’re so focused on a future goal you can’t enjoy what’s actually going on in your life.

It’s no wonder we can’t reach our goals in a more faster and efficient way!

When we set goals the single most important thing you need is this:

  1. NEW IDENTITY

What would a person that doesn’t stress about work or people think and feel like?

What would a person wanting to lose 8 pounds actually do day in and day out?

What would a person who wants to be happy be thinking about?

It all comes down to identity…

What I see a lot of people do instead is keep their current identity and will power their way to the next level. And that’s a whole lotta WORK!!!

So set your mind straight first.

Think and feel from your future self.

Don’t waste your time and precious energy trying to white knuckle your way there…

Because trust me, there is a much simpler, faster way to reach your goal, and I’ll be cheering you on from the side lines.

The Power Of Your Own Personal Board Of Directors

Visualization is a powerful tool.

Oftentimes when we visualize we are allowing for possibilities to arise; we are allowing for our brain to prime itself for what is possible.

I like to follow a visualization practice created by Napoleon Hill.

He essentially invites you to create your own, personal board of directors.

Think of the people in your life who inspire you. They can be dead or alive.

Maybe you listen to their podcast religiously, maybe you have all of their books, maybe they are a real life mentor at work…

These people all emulate a part of you that exists inside you, but need more development.

When you visualize yourself at the head of the table presenting a problem, imagine these people giving you their biggest advice.

You will find yourself with deep, deep knowledge of how they would tackle any problem, issue in life, or any circumstance you present them with.

What you will realize is that the answers are always within you. Sometimes we need to get out of our own mind in order to find them, but the answers are always within.

So, who would be your personal board of directors?
